PSDayUK September 2017

On Friday 22nd September a group of people involved with organising PowerShell User Group events around the UK will be hosting a 1 day PowerShell conference in London, PSDayUK. It will take place following on from the 2 day WinOps conference at the same venue, Skills Matter CodeNode, on Wed 20 - Thr 21st September. Headlining the day is Steven Murawski - Cloud Developer Advocate at Microsoft. Then there will be two separate tracks of sessions with many great speakers from the PowerShell community:

UK South Coast PowerShell User Group

There are a number of PowerShell User Groups in the UK, but unfortunately none for me that are easy to get to with my home location and work commitments. So I am gathering interest in a UK South Coast PowerShell User Group for coders of all experience levels. The purpose of this initial meetup is to test the viability of running a PowerShell meetup in Southampton on a regular basis. Hopefully we will get enough interest to take this forward and start running sessions with PowerShell content for everyone to learn from.

London VMUG January 2015

The first London VMUG of 2015 is almost upon us and as usual looks like a great line up of activities. My employer Xtravirt is sponsoring the labs and have a tech-preview of some software that you may be interested to check out. Plus one of my colleagues Michael Poore will be talking about a real world automation project. Make sure you register and get along to the event. [table id=2 /]

vFACTOR London VMUG January 2015

Ever thought about presenting at a user group, but not quite found that extra incentive to give it a go for the first time? Many people I know have benefited in both a personal and professional capacity from doing so and I certainly have too. The opportunity to relate tales of a project at work or a particular piece of technology you have an interest in can often be quite an experience I’ve found, with discussions afterwards leading to new ideas about your topic or even people believing you’re an expert at something, just because you had the guts good sense to stand up in front of your peers and talk about it.

UKVMUG November 2014

The agenda for this year’s UKVMUG at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham has just been published and what a line up the organisers have put together this year! It genuinely does seem to get even more impressive every time and I know for a fact that the organisers put an unbelievable amount of effort into making that so. I’m really pleased to see that this time round they have included all of the community sessions in the mezzanine area on the main agenda page.
